Crafting Caravan

The caravan's crafters trade skill XP and Crafter's Guild Tokens for finished goods, and each task repeats every 20 hours — so over a visit you can run each one about four times. Pick the professions you work, set how many runs you mean to do, and this works out what that costs: which tasks you can take right now, which are worth the materials, and one shopping list for the lot. Import a character to have it check your skill levels and your storage.

What tokens buy

The caravan is a live event: the crafters set up in the Red Wing Casino for a few days at a time, and the board is empty between visits. Task tiers unlock on skill level, and the level a task asks for is checked against your displayed skill level, so synergy bonus levels count toward getting in the door.

A task's craft count is not always its delivery count: Jopol wants ten crafts of arrows, which is ten thousand arrows, and Loche wants ten crafts of spore bombs but only thirty of the fifty they make. Both numbers are shown, and the shopping list is built from whichever one binds. Gear recipes are listed in their enchanted form because that is the recipe the game asks you to use, but the crystal slots are optional and are left out of the materials; a brewing flavour slot is a real choice and is listed as one.

Material quantities are gross: everything the recipes consume, expanded down to what you buy or gather, with what your imported storage already holds shown beside it. Prices are the shared vendor values from the Crafting Calculator. For levelling a craft skill outside the event, the Crafting Planner works out the cheapest recipe path instead.

Runs are costed as one batch, not as one run four times. A sub-recipe that makes several units leaves a remainder the next run uses, and a tool wears out over all of them rather than once each, so four Crude Chainmail Suits come to 57 metal slabs and 10 sharpening stones, where four separate shopping trips would have you buy 72 and 20. The leftovers really are still in your bag tomorrow. The run count you set applies to tasks as you tick them; changing it afterwards leaves your existing picks alone unless you press apply to picked.

Best value ranks one run of each task by what it pays against what its materials cost, which is not the same as its tier: Toolcrafting's level 80 task pays more XP than its level 70 one and costs a quarter as much. Two honest caveats travel with that number. A barter-only material is counted in the ranking — it costs you something to get — but is left out of the shopping estimate, because no vendor will take councils for it. And a slot pick ("one of Green Pepper, Red Pepper, Molasses or Corn") has no single price, so it is listed in the shopping list under its own heading, counted on the row, and priced in neither: a task marked +N slot picks costs more than its council figure says.
