Auction Catalogue

Turn a mule's inventory into a numbered list of lots, then hand out one link. Nothing is uploaded: the whole catalogue lives in the link itself.

How to run an auction with this

An auction needs three jobs doing, and one person cannot do all three while the bidding is live: somebody calls the lots, somebody holds and trades the items, and somebody writes down who won what for how much. This page is for the first two. It answers "what is in tonight's auction", in order, with the numbers a bidder needs, before the auction starts.

Build it from the mule. Park the items in one chest or one character, save a *_items_*.json report in game, and drop the file on this page. Pick the vault the lots are sitting in and tick the ones you are selling. Imported lots carry what the item actually is rather than what its name says: its rarity, its level, who crafted it and, for gear, every mod on it. That is the part a bidder is really bidding on, and it is the part a hand-typed list always loses.

Or add lots by hand. Search any item in the game by name and add it as a lot. Use this for things you have not collected yet, for a lot that is a pile of something, or when you would rather not export a report at all. A hand-added lot knows the item's name, icon, slot and level, but it cannot know the mods on your particular copy, so type those into the lot's note.

Then share the link. Copy the shareable link and post it wherever the auction is being announced. The catalogue travels inside the link, so there is no account, no login and nothing stored on the server. A sneak peek a few days out is the same link: add the lots you have so far and send it, then send it again when it grows. Copy for Discord gives you the same catalogue as plain text for a channel post, and the print view gives the auctioneer a sheet to read from.

Two things worth deciding before you start. Bids arriving as tells cannot be seen by anyone but the person being told, so whoever calls the lots is the only one who knows the standing bid. And a bid from somebody on that person's ignore list never arrives at all, which looks exactly like no bid. If you are splitting the jobs up, decide which single character takes the bids and say so in the catalogue notes.
